Hackintoshing – Part II

My rig got stuck at the (in)famous [PCI Configuration Begin] message. Last time, i solved that using my DSDT plus kexts patches (i think it’s IOPCIFamily, ACPI, something). I just copied my entire /Extra folder from my previous working system.

Let’s boot…

Crap!!! Google, HELP!

So, i need to copy some kexts from 1.0.6.7, eh? I will try the supplemental update for 1.0.6.8 first.

Reboot…

Nothing. The kernel panic now refers to AppleACPI-something. I will use the Kext Pack fix for this shit.

Ok. Let’s use some modded kexts – instructions here.replacing-kext-pci-configuration-begin

sh-3.2# kextcache -v 1 -a i386 -a x86_64 -m /Volumes/MAXTOR/System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/Extensions.mkext /Volumes/MAXTOR/System/Library/Extensions

Created mkext archive /Volumes/MAXTOR/System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/Extensions.mkext.

After reading the feedback from the necessary command for rebuilding the kext cache file (Extensions.mkext)… restart.

And… got another kernel panic. Now it says something about don’t match a driver for this ACPI platform. Thanks to the previous Terminal log, i will copy my AppleACPIPlatform.kext from my working system.
